Be the first to introduce Amarantus and Pompeii to your students

Pilot Schools will be trialing our materials in the 2019-20 school year before they are officially launched in Summer 2020.

As a Pilot School you will receive:

  • Attendance at free training and feedback events
  • Support and training during the trial period
  • Acknowledgement in associated publications as well as the opportunity to contribute to published research
  • The opportunity for a school visit from one of our collaborators
  • Amarantus goodies for you and your classroom!

 

How to become a Pilot School

Launch Event

Date: Wednesday 10th July 2019

Time: 10am-4pm

Location: Donald McIntyre Building, Faculty of Education, University of Cambridge

This event gave pilot teachers a first look at the Amarantus resources, training in using them, and the chance to meet our collaborators, including Caroline Lawrence and Dr. Sophie Hay. 

The programme included:

  • the pedagogy behind Amarantus and how it fits into the KS3 curriculum
  • Caroline Lawrence on her creative process in crafting the story of Amarantus
  • Sophie Hay on the cutting edge research that the materials are based on
  • information on how to teach the materials and the subject knowledge necessary to do so
